Dotted Chambray

Dress: Anthropologie // Clutch: Samudra via Shopbop // Shoes: Zara // Accessories: J. Crew, Bauble Bar, Forever 21 // Sunglasses: Karen Walker

Is there anything more satisfying than finding the perfect shirt dress? I think not.

I found this lovely chambray shirt dress at Anthropologie and just had to have it. It's way soft, features a subtle polka-dot print and has pockets. (Y'all, you know how much I love a dress with pockets.) Also, I recently re-discovered these Zara color-blocked heels when I was re-organizing my shoe rack. When I first got these heels I wore them just about every day and then realized I needed to retire them for a while or I was going to seem like that crazy girl who only had a singular pair of heels. It took a lot of will power not to buy the same style in the other color variations--baby steps, people.

Happy Monday! Thanks for reading y'all.

Spring Blooms

Happy Spring y'all!

I know, I know--florals for spring isn't exactly groundbreaking. But I just can't help myself! There's nothing that cheers me up more than a colorful bouquet of flowers. I plan to take full advantage of copious amounts of fresh flowers this season (hello, peony season). Living in California, I'm excited to fill my spring weekends with trips to the farmer's mraket, picnics outside and short getaways to local wineries.

Top: Forever 21 // Jeans: J Brand // Shoes: Rebecca Taylor // Clutch: Gap // Sunglasses: Karen Walker

As a young girl, I was convinced that once I was out of school and a working woman, I would be able to afford copious amounts of Dior dresses and Manolo Blahnik footwear a la Carrie Bradshaw. It's been a few years post college and I'm here to report that this is very much not the case. That is precisely why I am all about the high-low mixing. I think it's important to invest wisely in two categories: truly special pieces that you'll treasure forever and classic items that will stand the test of time and trends. For everything else, I rely on stores like Forever 21 and H&M to indulge in trendier pieces that I don't expect will survive more than a few seasons.

Enter this sheer, sparkly shirt! I've been on a huge lingerie-inspired clothing kick lately and this top hit just the right spot. The beading indulges my magpie tendencies and the blush pink isn't too overly girly. I will say that while the beading on it is super pretty, it requires delicate handling. But it is comforting to know that should you ever need to find me, all you will have to do is follow the trail of fallen beads.

So Sporty

Dress: Zara // Shoes: Manolo Blahnik // Clutch: Gap // Sunglasses: Karen Walker // Watch: Michael Kors // Jewelry: Forever 21

"Sporty" is probably the last adjective that you could use to describe me. As a child, I was terrified of contact sports and while I would like to think that I've since conquered my fears, I can't say I'm much sportier as an adult. But I do love all things Zara so this jersey-inspired dress is officially my attempt at seeming much more athletic than I really am.

So the way that I do a "sporty" dress? With lace accents and four-inch Manolos, of course!

Thanks for reading y'all. I am currently updating from SXSW in Austin, TX and having an absolute blast. Follow along with my adventures on Instagram!
